I went to Carmo, which was formerly Topo Chiado, to enjoy rooftop drinks on a beautiful day. I later decided to add a meal to this - Carmo’s classic burger cooked well done. Well, apparently cooking it well done didn’t kill all the germs…Almost 12 hours later I had food poisoning!
I’ve NEVER had food poisoning during my time in Lisbon, even while eating at the shadiest hole-in-the-wall fast-food spots. Plus, the stressful customer service while I was there (e.g. they got my drink wrong twice and waited 30 minutes before taking my order), makes me give this a 2 out of 5 stars.
The only reason why it’s not zero is that it has a beautiful view for weekend or happy hour drinks. Just don’t eat there, please.
